Research Meeting at Kyoto University

A research meeting was held at Kyoto University on November 13th. Prof. Kimura, the leader of each component, major researchers, and Researcher Mr. Matsukuma, who is currently in Ethiopia, and others also participated online.

In the first half of the session, Mr. Getahun Mekonnen and Mr. Negash Abido, staff members of the Ethiopian Roads Administration(ERA), who are staying in Kyoto as MNGD project short-term trainees for this year, presented their activities. Other participants of the training, who are conducting experiments with them in the laboratory of the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, joined the session, and an active question-and-answer discussion ensued.

In the second part of the meeting, the leaders of each component reported on their progress and issues, and a discussion was held with a view to activities after the end of the project.

With about one year and five months left in the project period, it was agreed to hold an international symposium in Addis Ababa next year to promote the results of the project, and the participants shared their determination to complete the project.
