Happy New Year!
I have not developed a time machine… I am serious. On September 11th in the Gregorian calendar, Ethiopia celebrated the New Year, and the Ethiopian calendar year 2015 has begun.
The decorations of the small yellow flower, Adey Abeba, the symbol of the New Year, is everywhere in the city. The power of a flower is a strange thing, as even my heart, which is not particularly familiar with this flower, is animated for the New Year. At the city market, I see more chickens and goats than usual.
I wonder if it is to add color to the table with family and friends. I spent New Year’s Eve away from my family, but that is not so bad when you think that you can celebrate the New Year twice a year with the Japanese one. The New Year refreshes our spirits and gives us new energy. We need that kind of refreshment to move forward with our project.
