On December 31, 2024, a special lecture was held at Jinka University (JKU) as part of the disaster risk management leadership training course, targeting students of JKU. Associate Professor Fukubayashi (Univeristy of Miyazaki) delivered it to students taught by Dr. Argachew (Assistant professor of JKU). The lecture covered the background, foundation, history, and achievements of the MNGD project.
While this session was conducted as a promotion for the course starting next year as well, a series of full lectures “Disaster Risk Management Leadership Training Course” is planned to be provided in the next Ethiopian academic year.
More than 40 students attended, and during the Q&A session, students actively asked questions in both English and Amharic. Dr. Fukubayashi, Dr. Argachew, and Mr. Tariku, who actively contributed to the project on-site in Jinka, responded to the questions based on their experiences with the project.
