On December 2, 2022, the short-term training group from Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, Ethiopian Roads Administration, and Jinka University visited Katsura Campus, Kyoto University where the Department of Civil and Earth Resources Engineering is located.
After a brief overview of civil engineering at Kyoto University by Dr. Kido, a member of the MNGD project, the group oved to the wind tunnel room (structural engineering lab) where they were guided by Dr. Noguchi, and to the hydraulic mechanics room (hydraulic mechanics lab) where they were briefed by Dr. Otoda.
The group then toured the geotechnical engineering lab where the MNGD project experiments are conducted, shown around by Dr. Kido and Mr. Teshome, one of international students of the MNGD project. They eagerly and uninterruptedly asked so many questions in all of these labs. Also, their hands must have been sore from taking notes.
