A Japanese expert from a non-profit organization called “Community Road Empowerment (CORE)” visited the project site in Jinka, southern Ethiopia in December 2023 and March 2024. He had meetings with local engineers and local residents to propose how to implement low-volume road construction in the areas with black cotton soil, and started construction with villagers. Despite the unfavorable weather and unexpected rainfall in Jinka, local project members continued their road maintenance work in collaboration with villagers and engineers.
