Visit to Gondwana Engineering PLC. Part 1
―the CBR molds by craftsmen
Together with Mr. Wendimu of the Addis Ababa Science and Technology University(AASTU), who is practically in charge of the experiments in this project, we visited Gondwana Engineering Private Limited Company to obtain the CBR molds needed for the CBR test (one of the geotechnical tests to evaluate the strength of soil subgrade s and of roadbed materials). We were also given a tour of their workshop. I felt that the posture of mold makers was similar to that of the craftsmen in Japan. The smell of oil filling the workshop made me feel comfortable.
