In August 2023, MNGD project members visited an area about 1 km south of the center of village B in South Omo zone, Ethiopia.
The residents of village B must pass through this area to reach the health center. However, this area is covered with black cotton soil, which makes it difficult to go through at certain times of the year, and access to the health center for the residents of Village B is limited. Last year, the MNGD project was consulted by officials in this area about repairing the road from Village B to the health center. We are now preparing to demonstrate road repair at this site with the residents using a plant-derived improvement material that the project is developing.
