This is my first experience of traveling abroad, and I am continually surprised at the differences between Japan and Ethiopia. When I walk down the street, I am often spoken to people, “Hello! 你好! ሰላም! ሰላማዊ ነው? Unlike in Japan, I am not accustomed to driving on the left side of the road. In Japan, I disliked turning right, but here, I dislike turning left.
