Two Japanese professors provided geotechnical engineering lectures to students and researchers at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University on 25th September 2019.
After 2 hours presentation, they enjoyed open discussion on the lectures.

Associate professor from Kyoto University, Dr. Yasuo Sawamura, talked about High-water mud treatment technique using fine shredded paper
Assistant Professor from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Dr. Hiromasa Iwai demonstrated how fine shredded paper works.
Professor from Ehime University, Dr Hideaki Yasuhara, talked about a bio-cementing technique using biocatalyst. The technique can be used for soil improvement to mitigate ground liquefaction induced by earthquakes. After the presentation, an active discussion was performed with many questions from audience.
