The 6th MNGD international student workshop was held online on 21st June 2024(16:30JST~/10:30 EAT~). First, Mr. Alemshet Bekele Tadesse (Lecturer, AASTU), who returned to Ethiopia last September after graduating from the doctoral program of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Miyazaki, presented his research results titled ”Soil Water Retention Behavior of Diatomaceous Earth blended Expansive Soil”. Then Dr. Teshome Birhanu (Lecturer, AASTU), who returned to Ethiopia last March after graduating from the doctoral program of Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, presented his research results titled ”Utilization of Light Weight Deflectometer (LWD) to evaluate the treated weak subgrade soils”. The second half starts with Dr. Argachew Bochena Elisi(Lecturer, JKU) , who returned to Ethiopia last March after graduating from the doctoral program of Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies, Kyoto University, presented his research results titled “Rural road accessibility and the change of enset agriculture in Aari zone, Ethiopia”. Lastly Dr. Kassahun Yemane (Lecturer, JKU) , who returned to Ethiopia last March after graduating from the doctoral program of Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies, Kyoto University, presented his research results titled ”Community Participation in Rural Road Development Process in Aari Zone, Ethiopia”.
About 25 project members from Japan and Ethiopia attended the meeting to review the results of their research conducted as international students in the MNGD project and share their perspectives on future research activities.
