Demonstration of participatory road maintenance in South Omo Zone, Jinka

In November 2022, the Project worked with local people to repair deteriorations of the road surface at the site where small-scale road improvement was carried out in December 2019.

In this project, the research team is searching for methods of participatory construction using new technologies that are currently being researched and developed. This road maintenance demonstration is another trial to establish a method for sustainable and well-organized small-scale road maintenance by residents through cooperation between the government, universities, and local communities. During the remaining period of the project, we will continue to work with residents to explore effective small-scale road development methods.
